Hello, Richmond! will build community and encourage a love of reading. This community driven children's book initiative will benefit children and families throughout Richmond, Virginia.

The Hello, Richmond! book will be given to Richmond children and available for purchase. Proceeds and donations will support the continued gifting of books to area children. Stay tuned for additional Hello, Richmond! projects and merchandise.

Hello, Richmond! will impact the Richmond community in several important ways:

Empower parents to share books with their young children. All children benefit from being read to and it’s never too early to start reading books with one’s child. Reading aloud helps children bond with their parents and supports the development of important communication and thinking skills.
Encourage exploration of Richmond and foster community pride. This book will be a guide for children and families to explore and interact with their city, leading to a greater community pride, community ownership, and strengthened community connections.
Provide a unifying, shared experience that contributes to a sense of belonging among Richmond children and families. Young Richmonders will grow up reading and enjoying this book for years to come. This book creates a common experience, connecting children throughout the city, while conveying a message of belonging.
